ABOUT US
Russley Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic's current premises on the corner of Wairakei Road and Sheffield Crescent. |
Russley Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic opened for business in November 1995. The small clinic in Sheffield Crescent started out with just three treatment cubicles and one physiotherapist, Matthew Everest. By 1998 growing demand prompted a move to larger, purpose-built premises downstairs, allowing Matthew to add more physiotherapists to the treatment team, as well as podiatrist Nick Haley. The clinic continued to expand, and in November 2005, ten years after first opening, relocated to its current premises on the corner of Wairakei Road and Sheffield Crescent. The spacious new clinic’s contemporary design features eleven treatment rooms and a rehabilitation gymnasium. The gym, Fitness Canterbury, is right next door, for convenient access to orthopaedic rehabilitation and facilities for prescribed exercise. Russley Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic was an ACC Endorsed Provider from June 2002 to November 2009, enabling it to offer free physiotherapy treatment for all injuries covered by ACC. As of November 2009 it now operates under the new ACC Interim Contract, which requires patient co-payments for all ACC injuries. As part of its ACC accreditation, the clinic undergoes regular independent auditing, and also maintains its own quality assurance programme. Throughout its history, Russley Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic has been dedicated to the highest standards in its facilities and staff, so that it can provide the best care for its clients. Its therapists support a variety of sporting teams and organisations from the local level to the national. This active involvement in sports therapy is complemented by specialist expertise in a range of non-sporting injuries and conditions, and up-to-date knowledge of treatments and rehabilitation techniques. |
